Owner and founder James Cruger grew up surrounded by the world of landscaping — following in his father’s footsteps and learning the value of doing every job the right way. What began as childhood days spent outdoors with dirt on his shoes and mulch-stained hands grew into a lifelong purpose: creating outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and built to last.

After several years working in the construction insurance industry, James realized his true calling was outside — transforming properties and helping homeowners bring their visions to life. Today, Cruger Contracting LLC proudly serves Dutchess County and the Hudson Valley, specializing in patios, walkways, retaining walls, and custom landscape design.
